FS2004 Problem

Postby reivilopas » Sun Nov 17, 2013 3:13 pm

Good day all members of Simviation. I am a new member on the forum. My residence is in Sun Valley, Fish Hoek, Western Cape, South Africa.

About 2 weeks ago we had a power search, and I had to say goodbye to my PC with FSX Gold + Acceleration installed on that PC. My daughter said I my use her PC as she got herself a desktop. Her computer will not be able to handle FSX.

I installed FS2004 on her PC and every went well, till I want to do my first flight from KSEA with the default Cessna. My yoke is a Saitek PRO FLIGHT YOKE SYSTEM. The moment I start to accelerate, the aircraft swings to starboard side and keeps on doing it till you cut the accelerator. I then re calibrate the yoke, same problem. Hook up my Joystick a Logitech Force 3D Pro, before I use it I also calibrate it. Took a different a/c from a different airport the same problem. Uninstall FS2004 + FS9.CFG file. Re install it, the same old problem, a/c keeps moving to the right. My FS2004 is installed in my C drive as C:\FS2004.

I am Flightsimming on and off for 16 years, first time I experience this problem.

Please help!!!

My OR is Windows 7 on her PC

I wish I had a better grasp on the technical terms used in the sim,and I know it is in the ac settings when you start the game. It has to do wit the prop torque turning the AC.// When you have the game on,click your ALT key.Your menu bar will show up.Go to Aircraft in the left end of the bar.Click on AC realism settings.Look at torque. When you run your cursor over the available settings, you get an brief explanation what those settings do.Try one or two of those for the prop AC.That may help.// By the way..... I had an odd occurrence show up a couple of times and for the life of me,I cant remember what I did to end the problem. What I noticed when I had problems like this was upon taking a close look at my AC from the rear at ground level,I noticed my ailerons were at opposing positions,...ie., one was up and one was down.I have even had a similar event attack my rudder,in that my rudder wouldnt center for me.Sadly, again,I dont remember what I did to end the problem. Maybe,if any of these is the problem, one of the old hats here can assist you to end that problem.Discovering the cause is the tough part.Once you find the problem, the forum is full of helpful people, and many have great solutions. Couldnt do with out the help I got from these good folks.

Don't forget, under normal conditions, your "ailerons" will always work in opposition!...
One up and one down, when applying the Yoke/Joystick.
..that's what enables you to "bank" the aircraft left and right.

Paul...banking on it!... ;) ...!

Good day Stephan & Fozzer, thank you for the reply.

Stephan I followed your advise by standing be hind the A/c and every one I tested had the same problem, that the rudder is pointing to the right. Test was done on 6 A/c's at different airports.

Apparently you can adjust the rudder by Ctrl + Num 0 if it is pointing to the right, I tried it and it rectify the problem. But when I use a different A/c the problem is back. Any suggestions how I can rectify the problem permanently.

Thank you.

Good afternoon from Sun Valley to all pilots at Simviation.

I can report back that my problem wrt the rudder that was on an angle to the right is now solved.

I was taxing onto RWY 34R at KSEA. I saved the flight before the A/c lined up with the center line of the runway, so the rudder was still on an angle when it was saved as my default flight.

A mistake like this deprived me of enjoying some flights, spend 3 day's trying to resolve the problem.

This was now a real brain teaser.

So glad you got that problem fixed...for 2 reasons. // 1) You no longer have the problem and can get back to enjoy simming again. Glitching irritates be to a rage. AND 2) You shared the solution and it reminded me that that was also my solution to the problem when I had it.It had been so long ago,I forgot how I fixed it.Glad you shared the solution to an old memory! NOW,I gotta make a NOTEPAD entry,or rather a folder with entries of solutions like this so I dont forget again.
