Ive got many, many woai packs installed and run into alot of traffic on my flights.... until now. One day I took a flight and there was no air traffic at all. I checked my settings and my ai traffic hasnt changed. Anyone have this happen before?

FSX?

Did you install the WoAI traffic files in their native FS9 format?... or did you convert them to FSX format?

If you converted them and then added any traffic file(s) in FS9 format, then FSX will ignore all traffic files in FSX format.

First time I've seen this, what's this whole 'format' buisness? I just installed a bunch of WOAI packsinto FSX and so far no problems and I didn't do anything other than make sure that the planes wound up in the right place. Just curious before I install all of these military packs I just downloaded. Thanx for your time. :)

You shouldn't have any problems with the packages you're installing. They're all in FS2004 format,

I don't mind losing the default plane ai, but what do I need to do to keep the ships, and does this include the cars? :-?
Thanx for the help! :)

Cars, small boats, etc. are not affected, they are generated in a different manner.

The only way to keep your ships is to convert your FS2004 traffic files to FSX format.

There are 2 utilities available:

Flightplan BGL Converter-at the bottom of the page-simple '1-shot' converter. Extract the zip to a folder and run the .exe. No help file but simple to use.

AIFPC by Peter van der Veen-link in message #57- traffic file decompiler/compiler. Two step process to convert: 1-decompile FS2004 file; compile to FSX file. Also allows for the creation or editing of traffic files using the TrafficTools v2.02 method's .txt source files.  Extract .zip to a folder and run the .exe. Help file included.

Both utilities allow batch processing and file renaming to distinguish FS2004 and FSX files.
