My General Aviation Disappeared Post-WOAI, Help!

Postby Radopilot » Sun Jun 29, 2008 7:05 pm

...I finally made the smartest decision in my life to switch to World of AI, one of the smartest moves I have ever made. I've added every single package that there is, but there's a problem; I've been reading that in order to deactivate the default AI Airlines and GA, you would need to tamper with the traffic file in the FSX scenery folder... Thing is, it deleted ALL of the default GA and Airlines without me even touching it! World of AI is working beautifully, but I'd really like my GA back. Please help! Thanks!

If you have installed the WoAI Traffic*.bgl files without converting them to FSX format, all of your default ai traffic is disabled, (all aircraft and 'ships and ferries' traffic). The FSX traffic file is still there, FSX just ignores it.

WoAI traffic*.bgl files are in FS9 format. Although they work in FSX, FSX will not use FS9 and FSX formatted traffic*.bgl files at the same time. If FS9 files are present, it disables (ignores) all the default ai traffic and any other FSX formatted traffic*.bgl files.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

The post you referred me to says that the GA should be running with the WOAI, but yet I see where it says that the files need to be converted. I don't see a list of the files I need to convert, and I'm unfamiliar with modifying AI files... Could it be possible for you to please make a tutorial instructing me on how to do this? I also don't have much time to be doing this, I'm currently preparing on possibly leaving the city this week, but since my plans aren't certain as of yet, I can't be certain of much.

Check your pm's. I sent you instructions for converting your traffic files and getting your default GA ai back.

Dave,

Got your PM, and it works! i decided to settle on only WOAI and GA... the conversions to FSX didn't work, so I was forced to use the fs9 backups... but they worked, so now I have GA and WOAI fully functional. Thanks alot!
