Adding Aircraft Scenery

Postby jnigeld11 » Sun Feb 03, 2008 11:47 am

Cheers all. I have been using Instant Scenery with FSX for awhile now and have created a bunch of heli bases with IS. I would now like to add some ground aircraft to the heli bases to add to the scenery. I haven't been able to do it yet with experimentation nor with a lot of time spent researching on line and reading in all the IS & SDK "help" files, tutorial files and forums. The problems I'm having are as follows:

When using Instant Scenery, the vehicles_aircraft library doesn't have any aircraft models I want to use for ground aircraft scenery.

The Instant Scenery Library Maker won't let me add aircraft from my simobjects...I keep getting the .mdl format not supported message.

I have all of the FSX SDK stuff installed and working, but none of the tools are letting me add aircraft from my simobjects folders to my scenery.

Is there a way to place any aircraft I have in my FSX simobjects into the scenery as a ground scenery object and if so, how is it done?

Many, Many Thanks in advance

Nigel

Use Whisplacer. The default FSX objects contain some static aircraft
an the you can also use the RWY12 librariy objects with that utility.
More info on that tool can be found at fsdevelooer.com.

Why not add AI models?
They are better looking and probably a bit friendlier on your frame rates.
They can be flight-planned as statics or you can have them doing T&G's so you'll have some action at the airport.
