I have made 4 parking spots for military planes. I have made they Ramp Mil Cargo and made the change in the config file for the 135 and 130. When I go into FS9 to see how it looks I see that the spot have been taken over by G/A :o. Ahh....yea ??? Plus the 2 aircraft are sitting over on the other side of the base. The civilian side that is.
Here is the 130:
atc_airline=USAF
atc_flight_number=1123
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP,ramp mil cargo
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed
ui_type=C-130
The 135:
atc_heavy=1
atc_model=KC 135
atc_parking_types=Ramp Mil Cargo, Ramp, Cargo
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=KC-135
ui_variation=USAF
Any ideas as to why??
thx
MC

What you have listed is part of the air.cfg file of the respective aircraft. In the parking line you have stated where the aircraft could park if directed by atc.
AFCAD only assigns one type of parking to a space. If the AFCAD space is designated Ramp Mil Cargo or Ramp Mil Combat then ATC will only direct those aircraft with those codes to those spots. The problem is that not all aircraft have those parking codes assigned. ATC has no idea what type of parking the aircraft requires so it will assign the first available parking space to that aircraft regardless of that parking space's limitations.
Make sense?

Try changing the ATC parking types to the following
atc_parking_types=MIL_CARGO

By editing the AI aircraft.cfg file by hand one runs the risk of including errors which may not be apparent to the one making them.
Always assign parking codes to AI aircraft (they do not affect flyable planes) using AFCAD's Tools/Aircraft Editor
All the relevant aircarft info is then available for viewing at once.

"Aircraft Editor Tool
Available under the Tools menu, this window allows you to alter AI aircraft parameters that affect where they will park. This can be done for any of the stock or add-on aircraft models you have installed. It allows you set a parking code, parking type, and radius for an aircraft. These are the three main determinants for where an aircraft will park."
