A.I. aircraft and turbulence?

Hi all, long-time browser, first-time poster. ;)
Really enjoy the site, seems like there's lots of helpful, knowlegeable people here, and I can't wait to get stuck in.
I'ld like to start with a question, if I may; as far as I can tell, A.I. aircraft are completely unaffected by turbulence, winds or windshear. Is there any way to make them affected by these? Would be good to see the comp struggling to keep straight and level.

I will venture a guess here but it might have something to do with the flight dynamics of most AI aircraft. For the most part the dynamics are very basic and might be the reason why they are not effected by turblance. You might be able to use a .AIR file editor like aired and change the dynamics some what but I am not sure if the effort is really worth it. 8)

LOL! I think it may well be! Tortering those poor AI passengers :P

Well, I downloaded airED and have had a peek inside an AI .air file, but I don't know which bits relate to turbulence performance. Any help out there?

If you have a lot of processor power being devoted to "flying" the AI aircraft......... that power isn't available to display scenery or run YOUR aircraft.

Processor operations, RAM space, FSB bandwidth is not "free".

Too much AI having too hard a time will likely use a LOT of resources.  And the visual indications from afar would not be very dramatic.

So would I casino, so would I. It would just be interesting to see. I'd prob get bored of it after a while and then go back to actual flying. But I would like to see how the A.I. handles it. So, is it possible for A.I. planes to experience turbulence? And if so, what files and so forth do I need to play around with?

-hi,
Frequently when i am flying over Europe i can hear the ATC
telling the AI pilots they are commiting altitude excursions!!!|
Other than that as you say there seems to be no evidence of AI experiencing turbulence.
