Hi Yall ;D

I would like to set up some airport vehicles that would move around in my airport. I know how to set up ai traffic, but this is kind of puzzling. How would I get a vehicle to move from one point to another, and stay on the ground ? :P

I was wondering about something like that...at places where the planes are no longer airworthy, you could just have them taxi around a bit! An interesting prospect...

you could create them using GMAX and animated them (of course there's alot of procedure to learn)..I think you should go to scenery and painting thread to ask for this...

Hi,

Use Afcad and make an overlay. make a circuit and a flightplan in TTOOLS.
That's the beginning.

Hi Batman

Regards airport chase cars' where did you get them, as I need some. Now has far as getting them to move around in the airport. I setup an overlay AFCAD at the airport with the sim in veiw down mode then 'reduce the size of the adfad window' place the parking apron connectors (that's the green ones) around the airport moving my ac too where i need the traffic too go and, keep the connector lines too 1ft thick with no lines or lights' this makes it invisible in the sim. Put the ga parking behind or inside a building, and the airports traffics runways inside or behind a building. The down veiw will allow you to keep your traffic inside the airport boundries, and going just where you wan't them too go. The fault finder in afcad will keep thing correct for you ( its just fanfastic) I use it always, and it makes for correct movment of your traffic. "I thank you Lee Swordy for your fantastic program"  If you need more info Batman message me.

regards

Frank.

Hi Batman

Make sure too place the runways at the farest end of your parking connector lines that the cars' or trucks run along. the connectors can cross over each other too  give two way traffic' but where they cross over don't allow them too connect to each others lines  ie  no blue connecter nodes. It all works with my ai road traffic so it will work with airport traffic just the same. Because thr trafic have to travell all the way around the airport (where ever you send them) then they are still on the ground has they haven't reached their runway. So they cannot fly. Make your flight plans for each car or truck IFR. This should help solve your problems. It works for me. If in doubt message me.

Frank.

Hi,

This screenshot of a type of setup for moving ground vehicles in AFCAD. An overlay is uses (therefore the parking spots from te main Afcad-file are deleted).

Hi

That's the same AFCAD method that I use for AI road traffic. The basic only difference is that I use parking apron connector lines. and my runway very short.
I only have two ai airport tugs and need more airport traffic models. messege me if you know where I can get more.

Thanks

Is there a way to keep the AI vehicles on the ground without having to take off, but still move around?

Hi Katahu

I don't have the problem of them takingoff. Perhaps its because their invisible lines are too long, and they never reach the runway  Try taking out the runway start location. It could be that the road traffic that i'm using have a tweek in their files to prevent takeoffs. let me know how you go. Oh yea there's always the nurse.  ;)
