ATC tool

Adding Aircraft Traffic, airport gates, etc, to your Sim - AFCAD, TTools, Project AI, AI Aircraft, etc

ATC tool

Postby airlinefly » Sun Sep 11, 2005 7:29 pm

Is there a ATC tool out there where you can use your flyable aircraft (with panels and sound) in FS9 as your AI?? Meaning, put them in one location on the ATC tool and they can appear on FS9 as AI traffic. Though at the same time, I can still use them as flyable aircraft.

Hope I haven't confused anybody?  :-X

You can use any of your aircraft as AI. Just need to get TTools, decompile, add the aircraft to the TTools aircraft.txt file, add some flightplans for it, recompile and away you go.

No guarantee though that because a plane you like has good aerodynamics it will fly well as AI. That's why we have this forum where knowledge and experience can be shared because I'll bet you won't find an aircraft that someone round here isn't already using as AI - and that includes helis, fighters, bombers, amphibians and everything else you can think of.

Give it a go and don't be shy about coming back for help and advice ;)

I give up. I've tried using TTools and I cannot see my AI traffic at all. I can get some here and there, but they are guess and shot and miss.

I tried to add a Dash8 Q400 and I saw it according my flight plan, but when I watched it leave the departure gate, it totally disappeared at that moment.

For my recent AI traffic, I read the instructions or guide for TTools and wrote this:

AC#60,400,"AAV B732 AirCal"
AC#60,N469AC,90%,6Hr,IFR,14:15:01,15:18:08,250,F,557,KLAX,15:45:02,16:48:09,250,F,558,KPHX
AC#60,N475AC,90%,6Hr,IFR,14:45:03,15:39:36,250,F,559,KSAN,14:01:10,14:55:43,250,F,560,KPHX
AC#60,N478AC,90%,6Hr,IFR,14:21:01,15:20:00,260,F,561,KSNA,15:56:23,16:55:22,250,F,562,KPHX
AC#60,N482AC,90%,6Hr,IFR,15:04:02,16:23:14,280,F,563,KFAT,16:58:01,18:17:13,280,F,564,KPHX

in my Aircraft and Flightplan.txt. Maybe seeing 4 aircraft at KPHX and at the departure times listed, but I do not see anything! I searched the entire airport and nothing.

Does anybody have anything on how I can actually see my AI and see it in action??

Almost. More new layouts with new parking spaces, taxiways, etc..
Basically said, AFCADS make airport layouts more realistic.

Choose one, and put it into your FS9\Addon Scenery\scenery folder.

For an easier creation of AI flightplans, try the excellent Flightplan Calculator from GW_Simulations.

airlinefly,

One of the most common problems with "finding" the AI flights you add is that the time you are looking is not the time you actually scheduled them for.

Mane sure that you are looking at the correct GMT time.

And maybe try getting AI Traffic Mover.  It is a "front end" for TTools.  It makes doing AIl flight planning and alteration SO much easier.  No more strings of text code.

Another good front end for TTools is YRoute.

I have both...and use each for some particular featuire that one has but the other does not.

best,

I could try YRoute and the other front end for TTools, traffic mover. I could swear I am looking at GMT time.

For instance, my Dash8 Q400. It appeared at KPHX (Sky Harbor) but when it was time to leave the gate, it moved back for 2 seconds and totally disappeared.

I was hoping by writing 4 flight plans for Air Cal at KPHX around the same time, I would see 4 AI aircraft. KPHX has plenty of parking. I also, tried my best to follow the rules of writing your flight plans. I've learned that TTools will let you know if something is wrong with the plan you wrote.

So I've used an aircraft that I can fly with a modifed panel and one designed specially for AI. Both with no sucess.  :(

By the way, can you add "too much" AI to your FS9 before it starts to bog down?

I have a 2.4Ghz processor with 1GB of RAM.

The disappearing AI aircraft symptom ...as far as I know..... usually relates to problems with the parking at the destination airport....or some other AFCAD related issues.  Possibly there is a taxiway that is not connected correctly on the departure airport?

I see in your flightplans that you have the aircraft at 90% which means that unless you have your AI slider above 90% you won't see them.......try changeing to maybe just 10% and see if it makes a difference..........just a thought...commoner ;)

..You could even change your departure airports to the same as the destination ones .....they will then take off ..fly around and land again........ ;D ;D

Well, it might have been the aircraft. I tried again with a DC-9-50 from KPHX and it was fine. I watched it taxi and takeoff from 26R. I even followed it at some point, but then it may have dissappeared or something else happened, but I didn't see it anymore.

It would be nice if I could fill up most of the gates at Sky Harbor. :o
