i have quite a lot of ai planes in the fs9 aircraft folder, and i was wondering if it is possible to put them all in one foler in the aircraft folder, or will that not work?  i just want to tidy the aircraft folder up a bit, and make it easier to find folders of the planes i can fly.  if anyone finds this hard to understand i will re-type it as it is a bit confusing ???

I don't think the game will "look for" any aircraft that is not listed in the AIRCRAFT folder. It, the game, selects planes only by the exact listing in the individual aircraft.cfg file within the AIRCRAFT folders. It's the same if you have, say, a folder named GAUGES within the GAUGES FOLDER ... the game will not open the inner folder.

What papa-metro says is correct.

However, FS does not normally care what an a/c's folder name is. (An exception would be a flyable a/c which is the target of an aliased panel or sound.cfg file) So for organization you can rename each ai aircraft's folder.

For example, an aircraft folder named 'AI Cessna 150' could be renamed 'zzz AI Cessna 150'. If you do that to all your ai a/c they will end up at the bottom of your 'Aircraft' folder list, out of the way.
