Hy yall 8)

I setup a flight of Stearman Kaydets. I would like for them to fly in formation. Here is how I wrote the flight plans.

AC#64,BS101,20%,24Hr,VFR,06:59:46,08:22:12,065,F,9165,KNUQ,12:59:46,14:22:12,065,F,9168,SCPB

AC#64,BS102,20%,24Hr,VFR,06:59:46,08:22:12,064,F,9169,KNUQ,12:59:46,14:22:12,064,F,9170,SCPB

AC#64,BS103,20%,24Hr,VFR,06:59:46,08:22:12,063,F,9171,KNUQ,12:59:46,14:22:12,063,F,9172,SCPB

AC#64,BS104,20%,24Hr,VFR,06:59:46,08:22:12,062,F,9173,KNUQ,12:59:46,14:22:12,062,F,9174,SCPB

The problem that I'm having with them is they are flying one on top of the other one instead of side by side.

So My question is how can I get the aircraft to fly formation side by side?

Cant really program a formation, but:

Set everything the same, including altitude. The a/c will maintain a 'safe' horiz. separation. The amount of separation will vary. Not perfect but it works.

Of course they wont take off or land in formation so you have to intercept the flight enroute. (Start your flight at least 16 min after their scheduled departure, and/or well away from their departure point.)

What I'v noticed if I wright the flight plans in vfr the aircraft are all bunched to gether one in side of the other. But if I wright the flight plans in ifr the aircrft end up 1 to 2 mlies apart. There ony in formation for a short time.

Well then, write them with VFR. This is not an exact science as FS does not support 'formations' as such.

hi i know this is late but something i have found to work is that if you  make thier alt maybe 20 ft different and their take off time about about 5 sec apart and thier landing time 30 apart they well fly about 5 ft in alt difference and be about 20 ft from wing tip to wing tip but say you have your pt-17s one takes off at 3:00am have the second one take off at about 3:00:20am and then there landing time like this........pt one =4:00 and pt two at 4:00:10
