That's my question:
Does somebody know a small free program in order to make an "aircraft.txt" file for TTools with the own aircrafts of the FS9\aircraft directory.
This is in order to make AI flight plans with the aircrafts instaled in our own game.

A .TXT file can be made using notepad or microsft word.
when you save the file just make sure you save it as a .txt file.
A word of warning notepad will only create small files but I doubt it if you will exceed its limits making files for TTOOLS. I am not sure what its limt is but I know that it does have a limit as large .txt files will always use word

May be I do not explain well because English is not my own language.
Notepad is what I use now to add manually the aircrafts in the aircraft.txt file.
What I'm looking for, is a small program that makes the list automatically taking the names of the aircrafts from the FS9\aircraft directory, and renumbering them, makes the txt file.

There actually would be very little demand for it I think.

People like PAI have already assigned # numbers to their aircraft and other AI groups use different # number ranges. Don't forget these # numbers tie into your flightplans.txt file and cannot just be changed willy nilly.

If you add aircraft and flights manually to your flight plans you need to look for gaps in the # number range that are not already in use and probably will not be. For example, my manually added aircraft start at # number 5237.

It would be very easy to write a small prog to collect all the aircraft into your aircraft.txt file the way TTools does with airports.txt. Trouble is if you did, you would then totally bu**er up all your PAI and other flight plans.

Anyway it seems a bit pathetic to always be looking for programs written by other people to do simple things in your own sim. Half the fun of creating your own flight plans anyway is collecting all the stuff together and doing it for yourself. If you can't do it - tough, learn. It's a hobby that is fun and rewarding in many different ways if you want to take the trouble and one way of increasing the pleasure you get out of it is making your sim personal to you - by doing it for yourself.

The only thing is that for me is not a pleasure to fill a txt file typing a list of characters with the risk to make a lot of errors.

Ah maybe so.

But I'll tell you something else. There's no way that you would want to have ALL of the aircraft contained in your folder set up as AI planes because most (probably the large majority) would not work properly anyway.

Even many of the planes issued by PAI are not good (sorry, it's true - check out the Airbuses which porpoise like crazy - Speedbird 2510 you are 300 below your assigned altitude - climb and maintain FL250 - and the 757s which do not hold altitude at all and slowly fall in a constant nose-up attitude as they fly).

Getting planes to fly right as AI can be a bit of an art and it would be a waste of time trying to convert everything to AI. In any case, planes like the POSKYs and MelJets are totally unsuitable because they are so FR unfriendly.

Back to the drawing board, what?

BTW I've done a heck of a lot of work on AI including FDEs for several forum members. I've also done FDEs for AI helis which I've got doing touch and goes in my (as yet unpublished) multi-carrier scenery.

All these knowledge is really very interesting, for that reason am I here.
I have learned a lot with the information of many of the posts of these forum.

Aircraft and flightplans can be added by hand using the methods in the replies posted here.

I use YRoute and AITM for all my AL and aircraft managment
and i only use TTools for decompileing and compileing.
YRoute will add any new aircraft that you have .
AITM I found to be the best  for creating al routs and fixing aircraft problems.
