AFCAD 2 ... !

Postby Roberto » Sat Apr 24, 2004 2:07 am

Hi

I'm a newe! to FS2004 and to AFCAD2 and have just downloaded some airports. I have noticed the following:

- When creating realistic parking the parking spaces are so close to each other that planes can't turn around bacause of a neighbouring arcraft at the gate being too close. At leasti it was so in FS2002 and AFCAD1
- Things get complicating and maybe a little too far with the airline codes. UNLESS there's somthing more to this coding besides having only various airlines parking at certain gates.

Something for Lee Swordy if he reads this. To solve the first thing about planes getting stuck. Why doesn't he add something to AFCAD that can make planes be pushed back. I think using a single distance, for instance for the aircraft being pushed back a certain distance.

For starters AFCAD has nothing to do with the amount of traffic at a airport. If you find a airport to congested you can either turn down your AI traffic slider or you can use afcad to either remove or reposistion the gates that are there.
AFCAD is a tool to edit airports and not used to controll  AI traffic in any way.

Roberto; What I have found when I built my airport is that AIs will backup on their own if the ramp behind them is wide enought.

If the airport your working with is a d/l then the ramp behind the AI might need to be widen, you can do this with AFCAD.

Not sure what your talking about here, maybe someone else can help with this.
