Hey everyone- I was fooling around with some addon AFCAD files for Atlanta's Hartsfield, and I noticed this box...

What exactly is the point of this? Does changing the runway surface affect anything?

Thanks in advance- bm ;)

PS- I know, my arrows are the best you've ever seen :) ::)

I would imagine it could make a big difference. B747'S do not like landing on water Or grass  :o
Try changing one and see what happens. But do not say I did not warn you ??? :P

I would think that the reason for all the defferent types is for some of the CFS programs, ie island runways during wwll were made of mats and coral.

Thanks Ivan ;)

runway texture

I thought that AFCAD didn't have anything to do with actual textures in FS, just the facility data???

Also, I've found out another thing about the rwy info; There is a guage that uses the data from AFCAD to tell you the surface you're on :D... I'll post a shot of it ;)

Also, if you go to the flight map during a flight, you can click near an airport and it will show you info about rwy surfaces, frequencies, headings, etc... ;) ;D
