How to add aircraft?

Hi, I would like to know how i can add downloaded aircraft to my AI. I have made flight plans already using TTools / AITE (Great Program) but with stock aircraft. If it is anything like I think it is, I have a knowledge of AirEd as well!

Hi Dan. You don't need to convert the aircraft to add them to AI traffic. Any installed aircraft can be added to the TTools Aircraft.txt. Whitey wrote a walkthrough on adding a 3rd party aircraft to FS2002 that I posted on my Lair. http://www.simviation.com/lair/Ttools1.htm

The principle is exactly the same for FS9. Whitey's tute should give you the general idea. Not all 3rd party aircraft will perform too well as AI traffic. This is where you might need to tweak the flight dynamics. You can create special AI Only versions of the flyable aircraft for this purpose if you wish.

Great. It's not difficult. No need to change the aircraft. If you think about it the default flyable aircraft are used as AI traffic.

Try it with a few aircraft you already have installed. If they don't perform too well in AI you can create a special unflyable version & tweak the flight dynamics to fix it. I can show you how to create the duplicate but you're on your own with the AIR file tweaking. ;)
