Autogen scenery invading my airport

Hi all,
I just got AFCAD2.21, built a test airport and ran FS9.  There were trees and buildings all over. ::)  I went through the docs and Lee said I could use FSSC to create an exclusion zone to eliminate the objects.  So, I downloaded FSSC1.5.11 and did that. But now, the airport stuff I built seems to be excluded. :o If I go in to the Top-down view and zoom out, there is a certian point where the zone disappears and I see the airport. I've been all over several forums trying to find out what I'm doing wrong. I've been at this for 4 hours and getting frustrated. >:( Could someone point me in the right direction so I can get this working? Thanks for your time and effort. ;D

I think perhaps the exclude file you created in FSSC is too large, and has excluded the AFCAD2 airport reference point. Many posts in scenery design, and AFCAD forums have discussed this point, but a search of simviation or avsim might find it for you. you can use a program called ExcBuilder.
Try this really useful thread over at avsim

This doesn't address the reference point problem [couldn't find that] but does describe the choice and use of the different utilities

Thanks for the help basher. While I was investigating your suggestions, I discovered that, in my exhausted state, I didn't realize I was making a standard polygon and not a Misc Object/Exclusion. It was brought to my attention when I read something about the Misc Objects.  I just tried again, and guess what? It works fine. Who'da thought?  So thanks again for your help and next time I'll be more careful.
