I just realy want to know if it will still work if they dont go in numerical order? Thanks any help would be smashig.

Iain,
I just checked all my PAI aircraft files, and all aircraft numbers go in ascending order but the sequence is not always continuous.

Having said that, I have never heard or read anywhere that the aircraft numbers have to be in any kind of order.  The TTools manual says that an aircraft number(or tag) can be used only once in each aircraft file.

It appears to me that you already know of the possible problems that can arise by changing AC tags in either file.  My suggestion is to leave them alone.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.   ;D

I hope that helps.

The numbering you are using isn't sequential dependant.

The numbers can be assinged from 38 up to 65356.
If you go higher the number will be replacing another number: AC65357 will become AC1

So as long as the numbers in the aircraft.txt are matching the numbers in the flightplans.txt there's nothing to worry about.

PAI number ranges are airline dependant, so if there is an airline registerd for being made in AI it's already given a number range. By assigning the aircraft a unique number PAI prevents that numbers are duplicated
