Help! Aircraft wont land

Postby hsvfan » Sat Dec 13, 2003 11:09 pm

Hi all,
I have downloaded AFCAD files by Robert Bakhuis for default airports for New Zealand that did not have AI traffic. The aircraft appear at the new airports ok, take off, but will not land.
I have run the fault tool and all seems ok. I used the default AI Cessna still no joy.
I have selected IFR in the flight plans, as I have heard that VFR may be the problem. I have tried to contact Robert Bakhuis but no luck. Short of giving the pilots the sack for not landing I can't figure out what the problem could be.
Could I send someone a couple of the AFCAD files to take a look at and see what’s going on (or not going on)
Magicman if you read this post could I send you some of the Files.
The airports are not that close to mountians so I dont think the terrain is a problem

Cheers and Merry Christmas to all

Is this all taking place at the same airport. ???It could be, do you have enough parking space. ??? Another thing make sure you have the correct version AFCAD.
FS2002 only: There is a bug in the FS2002 AI terrain avoidance mechanism that prevent aircraft from landing at certain airports (e.g. Maui), or certain approaches to some airports. There is often not much that can be done about this, but it sometimes helps to open an alternate approach to avoid the

Thanks dyfly,
Appears to be several airports not just the one. There seem to be plenty of parking space, I made sure that there are no aircraft at the airports to try it out. The  version of afcad is for 2002 and I have lowered   the flight plan altitude to 1000.
