 Hey guys,

I just got AFCAD 2.04 today and it seems pretty easy. But i've got a few questions to ask.( and if you were wondering, i have TTools to go along with it )

1. How can i connect a Taxiway line to a parking space?

2. Will AFCAD effect the AI, enabling more planes to park at the spaces i create?

3. How do i make my changes to an FS2004 occur in FS2004?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike, assuming you've opened the airport for editing using AFCAD2

1. Left click on the centre of the parking place, drag across to the taxiway centreline and release the mouse button. A link will automatically be created

2. You will only see any benefit if there weren't enough parking spaces for the volume of AI traffic planned to use the airfield.

3. When you've finished, just click on 'Save' in the file menu and the prog will automatically save a new airfield bgl file in the ...\FS9\Addon Scenery\scenery folder which is identified by the ICAO code of the airfield. If you don't like what you've done either delete the bgl file and start over or just open the field up again in AFCAD2 and modify it.

When it comes to allocating parking spots, that's now a new ballgame. It just used to be on radius but now you can do much, much more by adding codes for atc_parking_types and atc_parking_codes in AI aircraft.cfg files. It's amazing - more or less doing away with overlays at a stroke.

Hope that helps

In Afcad click on the runway so it turns yellow and then right click and properties.

You need to add this to the airport.txt file If I want to add Charleston AFB then you add this line
KCHS,N32* 53.61',W80* 02.45',45

you get the Long/Lat from that window as well as the elevation.
