Where are my airports?

Postby Mr. Bones » Thu Oct 30, 2003 3:00 pm

hello,

i used the latest Collect Airports program for FS2004. i got an airports.txt file...everything normal.

but when i searched a few airports, they weren't there. the aiports are KIAB and KSZL, both military bases. KEDW (Edwards AFB) was there but the other two i searched weren't.

how can i add them to the list and why aren't those default airports there?  ???

most of the military bases don't show up in the airport text, you need to get that info.

I did a search for KIAB in AFCAD it McConnell shows up.
Add this to your airport text file
KIAB,N37* 37.40',W97* 16.14',1371
KSZL,N38* 43.80',W93* 32.86',871

How I got that information is to open afcad and do a search for the base. Click on the runway and choose properties.

the entry is the airport code, long,/lat, only going 2 positions past the decimal, and the third set of numbers is the altitude which is all given in AFCAD

besure to add to post airport texts and compile

thanx for the reply! but it was my mistake. i used the wrong airport file. in the FS2004 one, the bases were there, in the one that came with collect airports, they weren't...anyway, now they are there. thanx again  ;)
