Hsv,

You have the right idea!

For AI traffic to use an airport, there must be an entry for the facility in the Airports.txt file and the facility's AFCAD file must have active ATC (with tower), adequate parking (in terms of quantity and parking space radius for type of AI aircraft you want to see) and a network of taxiways to connect the parking spaces with the active runway(s).

From there, it's just a matter of editing the flight plans to get the traffic to fly there!  It also helps to use aircraft models that are designed for AI use.......not all of them are!

Good luck! :)

If I'm not mistaken, In FS2004 you do not need ATC at the airport.  AI traffic can originate and terminate at non-controlled airports with the new version.  However, to start at AI flight there must be a parking spot at that airport already defined.  Until AFCAD2 is available to define additional parking spots, you are limited to those available with the default scenery or any defined in add on scenery.
