Replacing Default AI

I have the entire collection of PAI installs in FS2002 and i've noticed that the PAI installer makes it's own BGL instead of replacing default AI. Rather than removing the default AI and using AFCAD to make my own, what is the easiest way to replace the default ones with planes of my own? I can do my own repaints if neccesary. Any help on this would be appreciated. :)

Hiya TJ

I've seen one or two utils for removing default AI but can't remember what they were as I've never bothered.

Betcha someone will be along like lightning tho to tell you what they are ;)

Thanks Roger. I tried AITM but it seems I can only change planes for all flightplans around the world, rather than just one airport. The 747 was brutal on fps and the 767 worked fine on the taxiways but disappeared at the runway hold short. I got alot to learn. ::)

Project AI has a utility to remove default commercial aviation and/or default general aviation traffic, located on the page with the airline installer packages:

Good luck! :)

Thanks alot ;). I don't want to remove all of it but I do want to replace it at certain airports. Anyways, I figured it out in AITM. I loaded the flightplan.txt that ttools made and searched for all departures at CYVR with "export/search". I saw a flight from CYVR to KSLE and changed the plane from default Dash-8 to Air Canada Jazz Dash-8 with edit button. Re-compiled in ttools and went and saw my boy take off without a hitch. The aircraft must first be added to aircraft.txt, AITM did it for me as well. Now onto AFKAD.

Good deal!  AITM is a great program once you get the hang of it.  I remember that it took me a while..... :)
