Adding Aircraft Traffic, airport gates, etc, to your Sim - AFCAD, TTools, Project AI, AI Aircraft, etc

Please Help

Postby ARFFguy20 » Fri May 02, 2003 12:40 pm

I'm sure you guys get this a lot, but I would like help with TTools.  I looked at it and I get confused! lol  I was wondering if one, someone could tell me how to go about changing or adding flight plans for ai aircraft or if anyone has files that actually have the real flight, like Northwest, United, or Mesaba, ComAir, etc.. That would be great if someone could show me how to get that, also wondering how to use that program to actually have a certian aircraft land and take off from a certian airport. (Especially KAZO)  where I'm a firefighter at. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. especially an e-mail.   arffguy@hotmail.com  Thanks!   ~Brent

First of all, if you're using fs2002, you should be using Traffic Tools version 1.2 or higher.

There is a lot that's involved with learning to use it, but once you get the hang of it, it is awesome!

I would suggest starting out by creating a simple flight plan from KAZO to KLAN using one of the default aircraft.  Open the traffic.bgl file and enter "KAZO" in the airport field to see all flights at that airport in fs2002.  Then add your desired flight.  Another way of doing this is to create the flight plan as a new project and import it to the traffic .bgl file.  Remember, whenever you add a flight plan, you must compile the traffic.bgl file for it to be included in the game.

Then open FS and go to KAZO a few minutes before the created flight is scheduled to depart.  Tune in the appropriate frequencies to see if the aircraft behaves the way it should from IFR clearance to departure.

There are flight plans for the real airlines available at Avsim.net, but adding those plans will involve using add-on aircraft.  It's better to understand the traffic tools program first before you get into that.

Keep in touch!  :)
