Adding Aircraft Traffic, airport gates, etc, to your Sim - AFCAD, TTools, Project AI, AI Aircraft, etc

A.I Help please (again) lol

Postby Ace_777 » Sun May 30, 2004 5:26 pm

I have installed some PAI a.i and stuff. I see the planes on the ground but not anywhere else. How do i make my airport as packed as possible. Right now the airport is nearly all full but none of the PAI aircraft move. is there any program that gives the best possible A.I available ? (e.g packed airport)

I tried PAI, never really liked it. So I went into SETTINGS-TRAFFIC, and turned the traffic up to a higher percentage....I like that a lot better than messing with PAI :P

I am new to using PAI but did you install the AFCAD packages on the PAI site? As far as I understand the extra traffic needs the extra parking spots in order to work right.
I could be wrong though.

If you can see it on the ground then there should be no problem.
Dont forget that it runs to a schedule.
Also make sure that you have your traffic set to 100% .

Are you sure you dont see any traffic in the air at all?

Is your traffic at 100% ?
Have you checked the major airports that you have airlines for?

PAI is really good and Ive never had any problems with it.

Just one question. ( I should have read your first post first )
How many airlines have you installed?
Because you may be seeing all that there is meant to be seen.

Believe me or not but I prefer to edit FS traffic manually...I also dont love PAI very much,so I add aircraft to the traffic one by one, using aircraft and liveries I really love and want to see in sim.

For example I noticed that Dash-8 in black default livery is about 70% of my traffic >:( it started to be annoying and boring for me,so I completely erased Dash from my traffic, replacing it with similar aircraft.Recently I tried to include choppers in my traffic, just copying Cessnas' ;D scedules for it...Now I'm going to check changes...

Just love experimenting... :o

I haven't tried PAI but most people speak highly of it. You would need to install the airlines that operate from the airports you visit. If you can see PAI aircraft on the ground they should move & take off at some point while others will land. I think that Ultimate Traffic is the commercial version of PAI. It might be more comprehensive & easier to install but will probably work on the same principle.

Depends what you want. I prefer vintage types & changed the default AI aircraft to similar 3rd party examples with TTools. I also prefer flying light aircraft from small airfields & didn't bother changing the heavies but this could be done in exactly the same way. This is probably the easiest way to start messing around with this stuff.

PAI is amazing, if you install it properly.  The more airlines you  install, the more you'll see in the air and on the ground.

Additionally, make sure you're at an airport that services that airline.

For example, you're not going to get Qantas flights while flying at the little grass strip near your house.  Qantas doesn't fly there.

Also, keep in mind that international flights from the US leave in the evening, so you'll see them at that time.

In the morning, you'll see international flights INTO the US coming in.  It's all based on real world schedules.

Install as many packages as you can for the most realism.  That's probably the biggest key.

But also remember.  If you go outside right now and look up, you're not going to see 85 airplanes overhead.  PAI is all based on real world flight schedules.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

hey, Ace, One thing I don"t see mentioned in the replies to your quest for more ai traffic. No AC is very "visible" at ten miles, so i do this. go to first Fs screen where you select create flight etc. click settings ... click air traffic control... see the boxes under the slide bar for % of traffic? If you turn on "AIRCRAFT LABELS" you will see your A/C r #s displayed and moving along with the little planes on AI. The labels move in conjunction with altitude
, speed and direction.
