No AI planes in the air

Postby Minte » Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:01 am

I am new to AI..I have FSX with both UTs and the GenX package.
I've download the WoAI installer, about 30 US packages and all the GA.
I see planes parked in stalls at the larger airports but nothing taxiing or in the air.

I have tinkered around with the traffic density settings in FSX and haven't had any luck.

Need some tips.
TIA

All ai flights are on fixed schedules, the parked aircraft are 'sleeping' until their scheduled departure. Changing the density doesn't change an aircraft's schedule, just the number of ai aircraft spawned.

You could increase the sim-rate to 2x or 4x, or advance the time to try to find a more active time at the airport.

To assure yourself that there are aircraft flying: There may be aircraft flying in your area (approx. 30 mi radius from your location). You can view these by going to [Alt menu]>Views>New View or View Mode>Air Traffic. You can cycle thru the displayed ai aircraft with the A key.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I dunno, that sounds kinda strange. You have more US packages than I do... yet I have a lot of ai traffic at a relatively low setting. And this is around any moderately sized airport. But, the time of day can have an affect on traffic. For example... when I fly out of San Diego (KSAN) in the middle of the day, I may only see 3 or 4 planes around. But come sunset.... the airport is full of planes arriving.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

It's working now. I see you just have to wait a bit at the airports for flights to spawn.
