How to add static a/c?

Postby TwoLow » Sat Jul 09, 2005 4:24 pm

In continuing with my Air Force One theme I would like to park the second 'static' presidential plane at Andrews with the 29000 tail number as I use the one with 28000 tail number.

It doesn't have to go anywhere, just sit there for when I leave and return to Andrews AFB.

If you want to be realistic, don't bother. Both aircraft generally travel "with" the President, although the second is parked at another airport as a back-up, not at the same airport. In some few cases, another aircraft can act as back-up, but that's rare.

Alternatively, you will need the source code.

If the aircraft is made in GMAX, then save it as a scenery .mdl, and place it with obplacer.xml,

If it is FSDS2, then use FSDSMDL to make it into a scenery .mdl, and then it with obplacer.xml,

Please note, a scenery .mdl file is different from the aircraft .mdl files that are found in the aircraft's model folder.

obplacer.xml, and FSDSMDL are available from scenerydesign.org

Or alternatively....

Just give the aircraft one flight per week, a touch and go at a time when you wouldn't usually be flying eg the middle of the night on Tuesday. And if you always want it parked in the same place assign a parking code. That way whenever you visit the airport it'll always be there in the same spot

;)

much easier

PS

I have set up AI flight plans that haven't worked and the plane has appeared but failed to taxy. Could try doing that on purpose

Thanks, I'll give that a try today.

To be super cool, I'd love to add a helo parking pad to the white house (make it a simple helo pad airport so I could start there?) so I could fly Marine 1 to Andrews and land, then take AF1 out from there. Have a static Marine 1 thats always there just as the second AF2 would be.

I did manage to add some parking to Andrews and tried a AI flight plan but never saw AF1...will mess around some more today.

We use the TTools WEEK delineator to park (specific) crates at airports. Add helopads etc., using Rwy12 Objects Have fun :D
P.S. Rwy12 has static airplanes including the B744
