Embarrasing mong-up!

Postby Dan » Fri Dec 17, 2004 1:36 pm

Well, It all started when I downloaded and installed BirdMans original FS2002 Bristol scenery.... I want to make sure that he realises im definatly not avin a go at him! I installed it all as instructions, and overwrote my original AFCAD file... Well, the scenery is too FPS heavy for my machine  :-[ so I wan to know how to get my old AFCADS back!!! Sorry story init!!?? But as I said, its not Birdmans fault!  ;D

The afcads have no effect frame rates, they only add parking and taxi ways.

Just uninstall his scenery files, should be in your addon scenery directory.
If there is an airshow with in 2 states of me I'm there

Do you mean just go and delete the folder with the *.bgls and stuff in 'em? I can do that aright... I just disabled it formt the 2k2 scenery library. It wasn't the AFCADS that did my FPS, just the extra scenery.. That happens on this machine!! So will doing that fix all my probs?
Thanks man...

Hi Dan. If you disabled it from the Scenery Library this should deactivate the visual scenery & fix your frame rate problem. If you wish to permanently remove it please delete the area from the Scenery Library before removing those BGLs or you might have problems.

I would have to check out Birdman's files to see what you mean about the AFCAD files.

OK. I just checked it out & read AFCAD 1.4 Help. After you delete the visual scenery this should restore the default airport.
11. Deleting and Restoring Airports
BGL file backups:

AFCAD modifies the 'bgl' files in Flight Simulator that contain facility data. It automatically makes a backup of every file before it changes the file for the first time and gives the backup the extension ".ORIGINAL". You should not backup these files yourself because improperly named backup files can cause problems for FS2002.

Cataloging Modified Airports:

The Catalog / Delete / Restore Airports window, called from the File menu, will scan all the airports in your facilities folder and will list all original FS2002 airports that have been modified or replaced, and any new airports or overlays that have been added.

Restoring Airports:

An airport that has been modified or replaced with an imported AFCAD file can be restored to an 'out of the box' stock condition by selecting that airport from the list on the Catalog / Delete / Restore Airports window and clicking the Restore Stock Airport button. AFCAD will open the backup file and extract the original airport from it, then insert that airport in the appropriate facility file. If the backup file does not exist, or if AFCAD detects that the airport in the backup file is not in original condition, then AFCAD will ask you to insert the FS2002 CD and it will extract the original airport from the CD. Note that the Restore Stock Airport function only applies to airports that were in FS2002 originally.
