afcad doesnt work...

i have fs2004

when i start afcad an error pops up and says ..AFCAD.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience. this happens everytime. i have Xp sercive pk 1.

Make sure you have version 2.11 for 2004. And reinstall afcad again.

Do you really mean AFCAD 2.11 or perhaps the latest version AFCAD 2.21. I use this without any problems

ive used 2.04, 2.11? and the latest....they just dont work.....this pops up everytime..

Ok, this now sounds like a problem with XP windows.
Run a Virus check and then run your xp window update.
A driver may be out of date in your system on your computer. I will try and get you some more info on this.

i was leaning towards an XP problem. ever since i have had this windows XP service pack 1 the virus scan always goes crazy. i have tried all brands. im pretty sure it is what you said because it can t be anything else.

I have the same problem!
I have AFCAD 2.21, FS2004 and Windows XP.

I can open AFCAD.exe OK but when I try to maximize it I get this error message ...

I keep Windows XP up to date and have a virus scanner installed.

I hope someone can help RM116 and myself solve this problem.

What website are you getting AFCAD from? It may be possible that the files that website has, is corrupted... I have no problems running it.

I am now able to run AFCAD 2.21 without a problem!

I just have to remember to open an airport (i.e. build the scenery index) before attempting to maximize/minimize the AFCAD window.

However if I forget to select an airport and try to maximize/minimize the AFCAD window the program crashes.

Hope this will help RM116 also.
I have been in touch with Lee Swordy and he is going to look into this problem. I'll keep you posted.
