Tower View

Adding Aircraft Traffic, airport gates, etc, to your Sim - AFCAD, TTools, Project AI, AI Aircraft, etc

Tower View

Postby MusicMan » Fri Jan 09, 2004 12:42 pm

I have been enjoying tweaking my ATC info (gates, tower, etc.) with AFCAD.  In FS2002, if there is a control tower, you can usually get the proper tower view from your origination point.  When I get to my destination and hit the tower view selection, the view is from somewhere WAYYY away from the airport, even though there is a control tower.  Is this a flaw in the program, or is there something I am missing, like control tower freqs?  I want to say I have tried everything, but I know there are things out there that I have yet to try.

:)

No - tower view is from your STARTING airport, not the one you've arrived at!

This is just a quirk of the prog - is the same in FS04

... but if you want a more dynamic fly-by view instead of that boring old tower view, then download Active Camera from the downloads pages here.

If you want a different tower view location go to map...then click and drag the little tower icon placed on the map. You can select its altitude and distance from you I believe. Anyhoo its nice to set for landings and all and maybe taking a longshot here but thats probably what active camera does for you.

Unless you've upgraded to 2004, then Active Camera is free.

Being a man of principles (and many of you know what they are), I haven't PAID for the new active camera for 2004.  lol

But as long as you're flyin' 2002, A/C will be freeware, as far as I know.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.
