If anyone knows of a FS2004 compatible version of this airport, I'd appreciate it.

Wouldn't mind having that one for FSX either. :)

There's what looks to be a nice version for FS2002, but it is very offset from the FS2004 default field location, and I'm not sure what it would take to make the scenery FS2004 compatible.
Hopefully we'll see a version in the future.

The FS2002 version is pretty good and works ok in FS9.

Some of the off-airport stuff is a bit hokey, but the airport itself is good.

All you would need to do is make an Afcad for it. There is an FS2002 Afcad.txt available for it, since I don't have FS2002 I can't get it to compile with Afcad1.4.

cheers,
Joe

JoBee,

Could you post some more shots of it please (including overall/overview images)?
I recall trying it but it seemed to be in a different spot than the default field position, or some of the starting positions were weird. (Can't remember which)

Overall, what works, what doesn't, and what do you find strange about it.

Thanks for any info,

-Sean

The American football coach threw the red flag on the field and the referees have reviewed the play.

"Upon further review" this scenery is actually very nice, in most respects.

It includes the main airport and 3 additional grass striped airports in the area.

None of them have Afcads. If you start a flight at LFSN from the Create-a-Flight screen your plane will spawn in the middle of something other than a runway.

So proper Afcads are needed. You can fly into this airport without problems but you will be alone, no traffic, without the Afcad.

There are transparency issues with some of the textures, especially the static people located around the terminal. I fixed those in about 10 minutes.

I think I will invest some time in tweaking this scenery for FS9, there is a lot there worth keeping. This will take some time, days not hours.

Here are some before and afters.

The 2 arrows note some ugly ground tiles and a repetitive pattern in a grass texture that have to go.

Gone.

One of the neighboring added airfields. Can you spot the powerline towers?

Slightly tweaked.

Send me a PM with an e-mail address and I will send you the tweaked files as I get to them.

cheers,
Joe

Most impressive!

I must say that I am both surprised and very thankful that you've decided to tweak this scenery package for perfect inclusion into FS2004!

Some progress is being made.

We now have the beginnings of a working AFD file.

Here are a couple screenshots I took while following AI with Traffic Toolbox.

Still a long way to go, but I'll get there.

Hello all and especially JoBee,
I'm the former author of LFSN scenery for FS2002, among others freebies I had designed in the past.
I've been away from FS for 8 years or so, and I'm back to FSX, discovering that some of you had the good idea to twek the scenery so it works with FSX. I'll be glad to know where I can download it, and also glad to help if I can, providing photos of the real thing, uploading the files, textures that were used to compile the original BGL's, and so on.

Thank you in advance, I'll really enjoy to see my scenery in FSX  pleeeeeaaaase :)

So, instead of tweaking my old LFSN, I've started it again
