Courchevel Scenery?

Anyone know where to get Courchevel airport scenery.  I do have a freeware one but the approach is not too realistic.  Are there any commercial apps for this?  I did a Google search and did not find any ... most ended up as "404" errors.

Wow Capt Propwash, you are a real resource! I really did the Google search but came up with outdated or blanks. I'll get right on it in the am. Perhaps now I can get my JS4100 down a little softer and without over-running the end.  Thanks again..  Jim

Grizzard, the freeware scenery given above is actually the best freeware version of Courchevel available to date.
However, the link above is the FS9 version, which might not work in FSX.

The original author, Guy Nemoz, has updated most of his sceneries to real FSX SP2 sceneries (he moved completely from FS2004 to FSX not so long ago). Here is how to get the latest version of the Courchevel scenery for FSX:

- first, download this and install it as a normal scenery. This will not diplay anything in the sim, it's just a library of common objects that is used by the other sceneries of that guy :)
http://www.vf-air.com/VF-AIR.zip

- then, download the "Altiports" package. It includes Courchevel, Meribel, Megeve and Alpes d'Huez, 4 excellent airports with sloped runways: http://www.vf-air.com/AltiportV2.zip
You must add the sceneries inside exactely like you can see in the library screenshot visible at the beginning of the original webpage: http://www.vf-air.com/FSX2.htm
See how Alti1, Alti2.... and VF-AIR are declared ? You must set the same order.

- as recommended by the author, you can get an excellent mesh for the Alps at this webpage: http://c30s.alpes.gratisim.fr/
I DEFINITELY recommend you to install that. ;)

You're good to go. While you're there, take a look at the various downloads on that page above. I definitely recommend you to install his version of Lukla, or the small airfield Habere-Poche, next to the Geneva lake !!  8-)

Wow .... I've got my homework cut out for me. As I see it ..
1. Remove my previous Courchevel installs (I see 2 planes parked in one spot currently)
2. Install http://www.vf-air.com/VF-AIR.zip
3. Install AltiportV2.zip and set the library order
4. Install the c30s.alpes.gratisim.fr mesh Alpes LOD11 V2 ( 67 Mo)

If I've got the instructions right I'll be bringing my gear damaged JS4100 back in to redeem myself.

These freeware altiports are quite good.

You also might want to have a look at the LLH airports.
The altiports are payware, but they have a few freeware airports near Courchevel as well that are pretty nice.

Here are the trees from my previous setup that I was wanting to remove. This is a flight into Courchevel in a JS4100

Not pretty .... and I was demoted, but I won a bet anyway. We did have to replace a lot of the upholstery in the passenger compartment.

Is that Courchevel? Looks like Megeve to me. ;)
Are you using UTX? For me UTX is placing some unfortunate trees at the altiports and it is better without it.

It is indeed Courchevel and I am using UTX, but since I did the install from the recommendations above it looks much better. But ... still have not made a successful landing yet.

I suspect the Lukla scenery is not there anymore as I did not see it either.

Can someone tell me what I am missing, I downloaded the three zip files.  In file AltiportV2 there are two folders, AltiportV2a and AltiportV2b.  There are no folders for Alti0, Alti1, Alti2, Alti3 and Alti4 as called for in this link

http://www.vf-air.com/FSX2.htm

So where do I get them from or what do I make them from.  Even though the doc file included with AltiportV2 is in French, as far as I can tell it does not mention these four folders.

I tried using AltiportV2a and AltiportV2b in the scenery library, but no Courchevel Airport, I was on the side of a mountain.  When I deactivated AltiportV2a and AltiportV2b in the scenery library I was back at the default FSX Courchevel.

Regards,

Rod
