Music in FS2004

I think that a nice add-on for 2004 would be a module that plays music in the background on the main screen, like FSX. Maybe someone out there could give it a shot.

Thanks,
Brandon

You could use a CD.

I know, but is just nice having it built in to FS. I've been using 2004 until I can get my computer a little more powerful to run FSX better.

I remember Bill Lyons had a couple of planes that had a cd player in a glovebox 8-) (tripacer, and luscombe 8a) they are both pretty nice models, and you just plug in a disk then you have control over it from the cd player in the glovey

Just to make sure you know what I mean, I am talking about having music on the opening screen, aircraft selection menu, date and time, etc. Not while flying.

It would be kind of neat if someone figured out a way to have FS2004 use menu music, but it would be a resource hog too.
(That's just one variant of Fozzer's sign-off tag, in this case his online call sign. Nothing more, nothing less.)

Yeah, I really like the default music in the background on FSX. I even tried fooling around with this. I took the module from FSX that runs the music, and pasted it in FS2004, but it didn't work. I think I did something wrong though. In fact, I think I know what it is. Anyway, I will try it again when I have time. If this doesn't work, I'm sure someone out there could develop a module for this...

EDIT: ...pasted it in
FS2004 (fixed post).

Simply my two cents, but:
I really
like that FS9 has no menu music. I detest most, if not all, video game music, and turn it off on almost every game I play. I find it distracting, and mostly superfluous. Although if the tracks are made by actual artists, instead of "mood music", I may tend to keep it at a low volume. That's one of the things that I really like about the FS series: no unnecessary crap stuck in to distract you.
Although I completely respect your opinion on the matter and will attempt to help you however I can . . .

If I want to listen to something to while away the seconds that I spend in the opening screens, then I start up iTunes. The great thing is then that the music continues while I'm flying (although you can't actually hear much of it in the noisy cockpit of a Piper Warrior).
Why have fixed opening music anyway? It's always the same thing. The pseudo-633-squadron FSX opening music is just one reason why this is not a good idea to me for FS9, as I've seen numerous requests in forums for how to turn the FSX music off!

But just remember that he didn't ask for opinions on the matter, just how to do it. Even if we disagree with his choice, we aren't the ones that have to sit through it.
