although the pay ware stuff looks gorgeous I can't rearly justify the price when I'm trying to save up for getting my pc ready for fsX and been able to fly with weather on in fs2004

I will download the freeware stuff as soon as this alask mesh download is compleate 1.2GB :O

I use the UK2000 scenery for the entire UK.  It's a pain to install as you have to install each of the eight parts seperately and then initialize them, but they're good.
