For those using multiple computers and /or creating simpits some sort of interface software that could run an XML guage on a separate machine wopuld be a godsend.

That would allow you to do something like purchase the RealityXP "in-sim only" emulation of the Garmin GPS ... and run it on a stand alone machine as an external gauge.  Ditto other XML based stuff.

I think there would be a good market for this among simpit builders if anyone is game to give it a go.

Andy,

No... Project Magenta is a stand alone software package that duplicates real aircraft systems.  TYhe idea I am looking for is to allow taking a guage that normally would be installed in a virtual panel.... and running it on another networked machione as a stand alone guage.  In some ways that same net end effect..... but a very different approach.

There are a lot of nice simulated guages available for "virtual" panels....... it would be nice to be able to use them in a simpit.

Project Magenta is wonderful stuff...... but QUITE pricey for those of us building a simpit on a less than astronomical budget.  ;)
