Hi Richard.
I dont have an answer for the first part of your question and yes there is instructions on to fly an ILS approch but i dont remember where. But this is how i do it, i dont know if it is the correct way but it works for me every time. here we go. to every run way that has an ILS system you will have a frequency number like 109.5 and such the like. you will get these #s from the run way information you intend to land on or the the run way ATC direct you to. Once you have the frequency you will have to dialed it into the nav1 radio. Now what i do is file a IFR plan and ATC will direct you to the airport and tell you to maintain a certain altitude and heading untill extablish on the localizer, once i am at that heading and altitude there is a button on the panel (app) which means approch i turn it on a head of time and any time it intercept the lo calizer it will start to turn in the direction of the runway and the heading hold switch go off and once it intercept the glide slope the altitude hold will go out then i use the throttle to control the decent or try to keep the glide slope indicator in the center untill i am over the runway i kill the throttle and flair for landing. i know this reply is long but probable some one else can help you better than i did, but this is how i do it.
