I have been "flying" for years using THE PILOT'S FREE FLIGHT ATLAS, from ASBSOLUTE ZERO. It has about every city/town in the world plus all the world's airports (exc military)in map form. Cost about $20 us an issue, it takes two issues to cover US and europe and I wouldn't be without it. IT USES jeppersen data.
GOOGLE to find the publisher, which I believe is in Geramany

Paste this URL into your kneeboard_keys.htm file and view any map in-flight.

http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/ ... r/map.aspx

Thanks to MSN Encarta Online

bill
p.s. just type the name of the area or place you want to view at Encarts' Find box

hey thanks, that is a neat service and I have saved it, but ... I don't see any airports or elementary pilot information.

that's because this was not asked for
"hi guys, is it possible to get a map of the british isle's from somewhere that will overlap the default one with actual town/city names on it?"

for aviation sectional, terminal and enroute US charts go to Myplane.com put the URL in your kneeboard and the charts can even be zoomed in and out from the FS9 kneeboard
