Hello im lost lol. Ive just brought the new FS 9 (2004) and i went looking and i found this site it has so much stuff that im swamped!!

I would like some scenery from australian locations and maybe a nice silver plane and a jet maybe like a hurricane, also maybe a spitfire.

I found a adelaide scene looks really nice but it says:-

Textures required. Airport 2.6, VOD, Nova and Nova Gold. By Steven Royals and John Burford. 2.3MB

Where/how do i get that and how to install them ?

Any help for a newbie would be appreciated.

I love flying and i make a lot of R/c models!!

ps. whats YABBC mean?

Hey,

Why don't you go to the downloads section? Then go to the FS2004 scenery section and look for what you want. If you can't find it, try the search button on Simviation. If all of these things don't work, then why not check out other FS related sites, such as www.avsim.com.

Cheers

Maybe my question should have been where do i start!!

For repaints, check out the repainting forum.  There's a virtual wealth of knowledge to be found there.

As for what to get in the beginning, it really depends what your preferences are.  You might like warbirds, you might like helos, you might like GA...it's impossible to give a blanket list of what to get, ya know?

What I do is just try everything I can find that even remotely gets my attention.  Some suck, but some are truly mind boggling.  Worst case scenario you have to uninstall it.  No big whoop, as they say.

Enjoy, and welcome to simv!

EDIT:  And YABBC is the code used by this forum. ;)

The downloads page is here http://www.simviation.com/downloads.html
In the FS2004 downloads you'll find Spitfires and Hurricanes under Vintage, in Scenery are quite a few bits and bobs for dear old Aus ;)
For installation try the following two tutorials, they're step-by-step and really good, follow them and you can't go wrong ;)
http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm
