Tu-144 panel fix

Postby Falcon61 » Sun Jun 21, 2009 4:58 pm

We need a file to fix the problems associated with the Tu-144 v2 file. File is located in FS2004 civil jets pg. 235.

If you go in the panel of the TU-144, change "render_3d_window=1" to "render_3d_window=0".

The Panel.cfg tweak that RichardH suggested should do it. You might have to look for more than one entry.

I suppose the only way for me to check this out is to download the file. I was hoping to avoid that as it's a biggie.

PS. Are you using it in FS9 or FSX?

Try this one: http://www.simviation.com/fsxjets12.htm

FSX Tupolev TU-144 Soviet Supersonic Transport Aircraft in Qantas Paint Scheme. First flight in 1968, two months before the western Concorde. Also known as "Concordski" or "Charger". Faster than the Concorde, but less range. Today all aircraft are grounded. Some of them are on display in Russia and one is on display at the "Technik Museum" in Sinsheim, Germany. One TU-144 was used by the NASA as a test vehicle. 3D model with all common FSX gizmos but without virtual cockpit. Comes with custom 2D panel and real soundset. By Thomas Ruth and Claudio Mussner. Adapted for FSX by: Eric Buchmann. 7.2MB

I checked it out. The CFG tweak will work but you must do it carefully. There are 11 different panels contained in the folder named Tupolev Tu144_PS. The tweak must be done to each one for all variations of the aircraft to display properly. I only had time to check one out. It has 6 render_3d_window=1 entries in Panel.cfg. Each one must be edited for it to to work. You can either change it to render_3d_window=0 or delete the whole line.

Well what happens is that when I make the changes on Notepad I get this message: "Cannot create the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\ Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\tu-144\panel\panel.cfg file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

Are you using Vista?

If so, make a copy of the cfg, place it on the desktop, and alter it there.

When done, save it, and move it back to the aircraft folder.

I don't know if I would say 'unfortunatley' when it comes to using Vista. ;D

I'm glad I'm on XP, less problems.

Hmmm, then You're on XP, correct?

Are you on a computer administrator account?
