Scenery

I have been noticing several freeware programs that allow FS to be tracked using Google Earth? (This is probably a question that should not be asked),but has anyone seen a total program that would allow FS to actually use scenery from Google earth at a lower visual altitude with FS9??
I live around the KTBS area, FS9 comes closer to depicting the actual objects,(FSX is completely out to lunch ,only the runway is accurate),until you get over .1 mile from the runway. . I have piloted small aircraft around here  and flown in and out commercially for years and ,it is just not the same as the simulator.

I do not know where you are looking at but all most all of the FSGOOGLE EARTH programs are PAYWARE they do offer a free trial but it has limited functions and restricts you to a certain area only. Form what I have seen with Google earth is most of the images are not current and some are over 10 years old. But there are versions for both FS9 and FSX 8-)

FLIPS v1.1 is a freeware program I downloaded from another site. It will allow you to see your flightplan within Google, with the Google place marks. Some people say that they run it on a laptop while flying FS9 on their PCs.

That is the only one I am aware of and am sure there are plenty more out there that I would be interested in checking out but don't know where to find them?

I'm a member of a VA called the Flying Tigers Group. We have a utility called 'FTG ACARS' that we use to track our flights and report the data back to the FTG to update our logbooks. This also has the Google Earth facility and allows you to view your precise flight in Google Earth in 3D after it is completed.
