There are some packets of AI sounds around that give a marginal better sound to the AI. Problem with AI though is that their sound management is not that great to begin with.

In fact, if you follow a AI plane from engine start to engine shut off, the drone of its engines never changes. It's always the same tonality no matter which part of the flight. The AI are the only planes in creation that are able to take off with their engines at idle, judging by engine noise. :-/

One can have any sound on any aircraft simply by aliasing the sound folder/sound.cfg file to the requisite sound.

This is what FS9 does with its AI aircraft; e.g.,
PA28_180 uses:
[FLTSIM]
product_code=FSIM
alias=c182\sound

If one opens the C182 sound folder they will find a full-blown sound set. Not recommended for systems using lots of AI and limited computer resources.

Each AI author uses their own sound set-up so it's not practical to simply discuss "AI traffic" as being one entity.
