Fuel Calculator

Postby Poseidon » Wed Dec 07, 2005 5:28 am

Hi,

Is anyone aware of a good (I mean reliable) fuel calculator? So far everything I tried is anything but reliable. I don't care if it is downloadable or online.

There are several good ones out there but most of the ones I have seen only work for one type of aircraft.
I have two aircraft from Just Flight that have fuel calulators and work great but you can only use them on their planes.  8)

That depends with the aircraft.

most Payware aircraft have a fuelplaner installed. if you want, you can do it manualy. refer it to the performance chart and grossweight of you aircraft.
then calculate the fuel for:
1.cruising altitude
2.alternate route
3.distance
4.distance to alternate
5.taxi dep/arrival
and theyre you have it! your planned fuel

I was actually talking about the defaults. I have found some utilities around but their results are deviated from what you get when you fly yourself. So far I calculate manually the fuel but I wondered if there was something combining some aircrafts together in one tool for my pilots (I am planning a VA).
I guess I will create a table instead with hourly consumption instead.
