Sound Troubles

Hi.  What I am trying to do is add a different sound to an aircraft.  Currently I have tried uniziping the downloaded folder.  Then following the read me file without any success.  What I am looking for is a louder sound for a fighter.  If anybody knows where a good sound is and could tell me how to get it to work could you please tell me.  It would be much appreciated.
