The Trident works fine in FSX. Make sure you installed the panel & sound correctly. Full instructions are included in the Readme_Install.txt in the downloads. Read them carefully. Everything is included.
This is copied directly from the Readme for the panel:
[color=#0000ff]To Install into FS2004:
[glow=yellow,2,300]1) Extract the zip & you will find an 'Aircraft' folder.
2) Everything in this 'Aircraft' folder needs to go into your 'Flight Simulator 9/Aircraft' folder exactly as it is.[/glow]
3) If there is also an 'Effects' folder, everything in this folder goes in your 'Flight Simulator 9/Effects' folder.
4) If there is also a 'Texture' folder, everything in this folder goes in your 'Flight Simulator 9/Texture' folder.
5) There is no number five.
FSX Install
-----------
This is an FS2004 model, but it does work in FSX SP2 with a few very minor faults.
The main faults are :-
Cockpit glass is invisible if viewed against cloud.
VC tooltips are reduced to unreadable blobs in daylight hours (they are ok at night).
Kneeboard can no longer view multiple pages.
Built in VC view controls do not work correctly.
But on the plus side - the autothrottle keeps low speeds accurately in FSX & all gauges move smoothly in the VC.
Install in FSX is different because they have changed the folder structure.
[glow=yellow,2,300]'\Aircraft' is now in FSX '\SimObjects\Airplanes'[/glow]
Because of the folder structure change, to get the extra cockpit sounds you need to replace some of the files inside the panel folder.
The FSX folders for the Trident panels are :-
'\SimObjects\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\HS121 Trident Panel'
'\SimObjects\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\HS121 Trident Panel VC FSDS3'
The FSX versions of 'panel.cfg' & 'DM_Trident_sound.ini' are held in the 'Replacement files for FSX' subfolder.
The smoke effect also needs a file edit to work properly in FSX.
Each aircraft.cfg file has a section called [SMOKESYSTEM]
Remove the first 3 entries, then edit out the '//' from the last 3 entries.
The end result should look something like this (Trident 3 has slightly different numbers) ...
[SMOKESYSTEM]
Smoke.0=-33.90, -7.80, -1.500, DM_TRI_Smoke_FSX_R
Smoke.1=-33.90,

Thanks Hagar this has been the most difficult I have ever undertaken, The planes now show but am working on getting sound and a panel. Knowing you got it to work was an inspiration. Not everyone is a computer wizard.

David Maltby uses a slightly different method for installing his panel & sound files. It's not difficult once you understand the basic principle.
You must have installed the panel correctly or the Trident wouldn't display on the FSX selection menu.
This is the contents of TRIDENT_PANEL_20081209.zip

For the panels to display properly in FSX make sure you pasted both files from the "Replacement files for FSX" folders into their respective panel folders. Overwrite existing files when prompted. Paste the contents of the Texture folder into FSX\Texture
If there's anything you don't understand I'll try to explain it.

Thanks, I have cheated using a Tom Ruth Airbus panel and VC10 sound It will do for now. Will have another go when patience restored.

Why not ask this at
http://www.cbfsim.co.uk where the support for this model is based and all the information you want is readily available?
