Bit of a stretch

Evening gentlemen, I've spent most of the night looking for a bird I saw in a screenshot a few months ago. Still looking for the thread and when I find it again I guess I'll find out what it was. Until then I was wondering if this rings a bell with anyone:

Single engine, single seat enclosed cockpit, low wing monoplane, retractable gear, light GA, looked quite old perhaps dating back to the 50's. I know there was a WWII luftwaffe repaint of it and another brittish racing green.
I've managed to get it into my head that its a Bill Lyons model however I've yet to find anything to back this up. Whether it was freeware or payware I'm not sure.

Like I said its a bit of a stretch that anyone will recognise it from my description though I'd appreciate your thoughts on this one.

The only plane I found by him that fits your description closely is this one:

The gear is not retractable on this one, so are you sure it was on the one you saw in the shots?

Nope sorry, that aint the one I was looking for. The one in the shots I think was american, possibly even an early homebuild kit. At the time I wiki'd it an vaguely remember something about the manufacturer aiming it at fighter pilots returning from the war, hence single seat and sporty.
