I couldn't find a good model of one either, so I decided to make my own.  Its a work in progress, just started yesterday, and the following pics are a rough draft.

I'm using 3ds.  Here's my inspiration:

Thanks to Nick Kaloterakis for the awesome artwork!

I'm hoping in about a week, but that may change, as this isn't my first priority in life  ;) .  FSX will be first, as that's what I'm designing it for, then I'll make whatever mods are necessary to get it to 2004, as I still use that sometimes too.

I worked out the details yesterday, and tweaked the model a little bit, to get it closer to scale.

Approximate Raytheon CR-92 Aurora Specs:
 Length:  110'
 Wingspan:  73'
 Height:  20' (Gear Down)
 Crew: 2
 Engines:  (2) GE/PW Prototype PD-Scramjet
 Thrust-PDE:  48,000 lb.
 Thrust-Scramjet:  104,000 lb.
 Service Ceiling:  110,000 ft.
Top Speed:  Mach 8 (limited in FSX to Mach 4)
 Empty Weight:  65,000 lb.
 Maximum Weight:  205,000 lb.
 Range:  4800 nm (without refueling)

"The CR-92 uses advancements in metal-ceramic polymer composites to allow sustained hypersonic flight characteristics.  Other RE technology includes avionics systems, corona generation, and bearing design."

Well, its going to take me a little longer than a week... I think I've finally got the overall shape of the plane down to being *cough* realistic.  I researched the flight dynamics of hypersonic flight, and tried to make everything as believable as possible.  There are some aspects that are a tradeoff between being aesthetically pleasing and functional, but I wanted to make something close to the concept artwork.

Man those look great...  Please tell me there's a VC?

Thanks!

Not yet, but there will be!  :)  I haven't even gotten to the rudders, elevators, speed brake, trim tabs, or flaps yet, and I'm thinking about adding a canopy visor (not sure if this is necessary yet) and a lift-assist system.

I've got the pre-hypersonic cruise checklist figured out, as to what systems need to be activated, and the startup checklist figured out.  I'm making one that I want to fly, with all the gimmicks that I think this plane has, so it's going to take a little longer than expected.  But I think it'll be worth it!
