Good freeware?

Hello all, first post here
I've downloaded a couple of planes from the site, no real problems installing or such, some of them are really nice models.... but some of the model's physics or handlings seem unrealistic. For example i have this 757 that to keep it flying at a cruise speed, lets say 280kts, all the engine gauges go to red. EGT for example is really high... Not like my aircraft will need "virtual maintenance" but it still annoys me hearing the engines all revved up to keep up.

So i was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good model to fly. What i'd like is a real airline, preferably Iberia, or a repaint of the default aircrafts (which feel realistic enough but look like crap).

Also I have a model which flies decently well and its using the default 737 cockpit, but lacks a virtual cockpit. How do i do to copy the default virtual cockpit to be used on that model as well?

Hi mate! Welcome to the V (or the madhouse as some might refer to it )

I think this is a good question to start you stay with us. Depending on your preferred airliner there are several:

Meljet makes really nice 747's and 777's, Project Opensky make a nice 747 too, and I hear that their 737, 757 and 767 models are really good aswell, although I haven't tried them yet. They also have a couple of busses in their download section. I always had fun with the iFly 747 and the iFDG busses. iFDG also have a very nice MD-11. There are so many others that I forgot to mention a whole bunch like Tinmouse, Vista Liners, Kittyhawk, SGA, Eric Cantu, Camil Valiquette's A350 & 787's, etc. Try Google-ing some of these titles ... I'm sure you'll endup with a hanger full of really nice models. And post some screenshots of them in the graphics section if you've found them!

VC's, unfortunately, can't be copied between aircraft as they are part of the 3D design.

I know you mentioned that you don't have any cash for payware, but if you do one day check out the PMDG 747, 'Queen of the Skies'!
If you're talking about 'as real as it gets' ... you just can't get any closer!

Actually i do have a version of the Posky 747s and they look great EXCEPT for some weird reason, when i go to spot view, half of fuselage textures are really blurry. If i zoom in to the plane and then back out, they are fine. Pain in the butt :S

The thing with the 747 is that i wanted to start with smaller lighter aircrafts such as a 757 or a 321, maybe a 767, or even a 330, and then move to the big guys when i get enough practice.

I think you're starting to big ... learn to fly a Cessna or a Mooney first, then move to a twin and after that try a Citation or a CRJ.
When you've mastered these then try a B737 or A320 ...

In the real world pilots don't just sit behind the wheel of a 744 and take of ... that takes practice

O well im flight simming since... 2004 actually when i got my first joystick... but back then it was more like, Look i can set the throttle to max and take off! then do all kinda weird stuff like setting this 747 upside down...


Then i started to actually care about realism and started doing the tutorials, I even printed my Private pilot checklist passing diploma or whatever when i finished it... I kinda got the hang of it now, i'm practicing landings on a 321, which takes me to my next question. Is there a gauge or addon that i can download for this model i already have, that adds the real Airbus altitude warnings? you know, 300, 200, 100, 50, 40 RETARD, RETARD... Id love to have that.
