yes indeed! im making a 748i at the moment, its taken me nearly 2 years so far ( when i started the aircraft was still referred to as the 747 advanced) also when i began i knew nothing about modelling /texturing/editing cfgs etc and i didnt have a internet connection either! at the moment im fine tuning the animations and building the paintkit for it, once ive done the passenger version ill probably alter the model to do the freighter-then a couple of weeks ago i realized i could probably use that same model to build the 747-LCF too. as far as i can see no-one else is doing one, there are no mentions anywhere on fs sites so im trying to be the first to put one out. ive only just seen this post and ive got to go to work now- but ill get to work on some screenshots from fsds to tease you all! ps if anyone else is building one,get in touch if you like as i have a good amount of reference material for this project.

as many as possible! Lufhtansa bcos theyre the launch customer for the pax version, the Dreamliner house colours, BA as they have been keeping very tight lipped about which next-gen heavy they'll buy next! and i like their livery (i live close to LHR so i see them all day long) - probably United, Qantas or Australian Airlines, basically any of the operators who haven't taken up the A380. Im building a paintkit for it as i go along to make repaints as easy as possible for people to do. if theres a particular livery you would like to see ill try and squeeze it in to the release - i want to release it as a complete package i.e. sounds, custom panel etc...
btw screen shots will be here in the next few days - keep em peeled!

Can we get a release date? And for the freighter version i think Emirates, Cargolux, Atlas Air, Korean Air, Nippon and Volga-Dnepr have orders. Better get to work can't wait for screenies. Is it ganna have custom panel and/or soundset?
Cheers :)

just been on the freeflightdesign forum and some cheeky git has posted screenies of a 748 they are building! >:( looks pretty good - 3d fan blades and a nice smooth fuselage -

anyways, back to my project - just got a copy of fspanelstudio yesterday so yea it will have a custom panel, although i know nothing about gauge programming so it might not be super complex, and i can only find 3 pics of the 787 cockpit at moment, which ill use as the base for it. sounds-maybe do the same, get fssoundstudio and start from there. Release will be next few months i guess, all depends on how wrong it all goes when i try to compile the model and start flight testing!
btw how the freakin hey do i get a screenshot in my post, ive got plenty ready for everybody!

To post a screenshot click on 'upload images'(its at the top of the screen), then browse to your image, but make sure its in the guidelines ie under 100k and 800 wide, then if it posts correctly copy the url given than paste it in, the next time you post.

You'll have to ditch Qantas then, they've bought A380's

Rolls-Royce won't be supplying engines to the 747-8.

Well spotted bok! i built the engines before GE were announced as the sole supplier, the model i upload WILL have GE engines,  i took photos of Boeings display model at Farnborough 2006 and my engines do look quite different, so they will get a bit more tweaking.

As for the VC i knew somebody would ask this! i wasnt going to do one as i thought it would have too much impact on FPS (my pc is old) but if im going to do a 2d panel i might as well do the VC too!
hmm...looks like this project is going to take another 2 yrs to complete!  ;D

Yah, I am one of those peole that usually deletes the planes if they don't have one...  It adds to the realism for me.  Yes I am one of those people.  Rarely do I ever keep a plane without it.  lookin good so far, bty.
