F-111

I have a fascination with fast planes (OK, fast anything!). The F-111 is a favorite. I am aware that Mike Stone has one out, and that Alphasim has a nice one.

I seem to have a chip on my shoulder versus payware. I got Flight Deck III from Abcs and was rather disgusted. I won't go into details here, but the jet .air files went to pot awfully fast.
Point is, I'd like freeware. I've lost nothing if I don't like it.

No offense to Mr. Stone, as his external models are great, but as someone who has flown real aircraft in past I strongly prefer to fly from a decient VC.

Thanks

The Alphasim bird is DEFINATELY worth the cash. Probably one of their better jets. Pretty good VC (Better than most freeware you'll find obviously), Panel is good, exteriors are great. Plus, it has lots of nifty functions such as turn and burn I believe it's called.

Just what kind of frame rates can I anticipate with this monster?

Never mind. I just looked at it. You're right. It looks good. Real good. But as a college student doing this as a hobbie I can't justify the cost. Thanks anyway.

The frames aren't half bad. My PC would probably considered a high low-end or a low mid-end powered PC and I can get anywhere between 2 and 8 with full graphics. Not the greatest, could probably do some tweaking to fix it, but it's not horrible. Shame you can't justify the cost though, maybe at a future point. It's such an awesome bird.
