I have tried many Seakings for fs2004 but I would like to know of any which you think are particularly good, I have one that's a bad model but great flight dynamics, and one which the model is great

Hi Mac,

I just bought the Alphasim Westland Sea King today.  Visually, it's very good (apart from the RAF/RN pilot helmets being the wrong type and colour, but I can live with that - for now).

The downside is its handling characteristics, which are lousy at slow speed.  It flies like a Sea King with the stabilisation equipment switched off (not a realistic scenario).  I tried swapping the Air.file from a good handling model, but it didn't work - the Sea King just remained on the ground when I 'pulled collective'.

I've asked a similar question to yours in a couple of other forum sites, so if I get a helpful reply I'll post it within this topic.

Since I'm in the mood to grumble -  Alphasim don't give their models away for free, and it would have been nice for the price to have seen a working winch, or at least a winchman kneeling by the door (the interior, like Goldilock's cupboard, is distinctly bare).

That said, their external model is the best I've ever seen, capturing the distinctive look of the forward hull/nose profile of the Sea King (some difficult contours to model there).

Cheers, and Happy Hovering!

Hello (again),

See the replies to my post "Is it possible to swap air.files?" in the main FS2004 section - and good luck!
