A little help please?

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

A little help please?

Postby rossellleblanc » Fri May 26, 2006 4:16 pm

Hello,

I have been having trouble with making new aircraft. I was wondering if someone could make a specific airliner I flew on in february. It was a North American Airlines B767. Heres a picture of it.

I did notice that you have the textures for it but it didn't work for my computer. I would be very happy if someone could do this for me. Thank you. :)

Hi Rossell. Are you sure you installed the textures from here correctly? The only file I found from here was for a 757. Could you provide a link?

Hello. You don't say which textures you tried. I found a set here. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004jets25.htm
You will need the Posky Atlantic 767 (posted at the top of the same page) installed & working first.

I downloaded the texture file (Po752na.zip) to check it out & it doesn't seem to be configured properly. If the Atlantic 767 is installed & working OK the new textures need to be in a folder named texture.na for the sample CFG entry to work. This folder should be in the main folder of your Atlantic 767 & the new entry added to Aircraft.cfg. (Ignore the instructions to unzip the file into the 767.)

Please have another go. Make a backup copy of Aircraft.cfg before editing it. If it still doesn't show up I'll download that Atlantic 767 & check it out myself.

PS. Oops. I noticed it's a 757. :-[

Sorry, I probably should have also said I tried using the B757 version that Hagar mentioned with some other 757's.

I already had two 757's of the Posky style and it still didnt work for the north american textures and for some odd reason, the Atlantic Airlines 757 doesnt seem to want to download into my computer. So I would greatly appreciate it if one of you could maybe just create a whole new aircraft? Thanks again. :)

Asking someone to create a new aircraft is alot more than just make it and thats it, it takes a lot longer.  Why dont you give us links to the planes your talking about, id be glad to try em out and see if I can get it to work

Uhh...I just did a quick search and found several Boeing 767 models for FS2004. If there isn't a texture set already, it would be easy to paint one instead of building a whole new package ;)

Try adding the NAA 757 textures to one of your 757s that does work. Make sure the new textures are in a subfolder named texture.na
Then add this entry to its Aircraft.cfg.

[fltsim.X] ; <---- Change the X to the next number in sequence.
title=Project Opensky Boeing 757-200 North American
sim=B757-200-PW-PW2043 ; <---- This MUST be the same as the AIR file prefix
model= ; <---- Same entry as any previous ones
panel=
sound=
texture=na
checklists=

kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=
atc_airline=North American
atc_flight_number=184
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=757-200
ui_variation=North American
description=Project Opensky \nBoeing 757-200\nVersion 2004.8.0\n\nFS2004 Only\n\nEngine Type: RR RB211-535E4\n\nModel Designers\n

Thanks for your help. I did finally get the plane but it's a 737 instead. What I did was go to that website you gave me, www.projectopensky.com, which eventually lead me to www.avsim.net and I was able to get it there. So thanks. I also got some other jets from that website that weren't on this website or they were ones I wasn't able to download here.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to tell you. That website is part of the new Aircraft.cfg entry for the 757 repaint we were talking about. I knew I should have left that part off as it wouldn't make any difference.

Ah well, as long as you're happy. ;)
