Learning FSDS3, XML animation, XML guages...and health issues with pension complications to boot!

It is going somewhere...but it sure was easier in the FSDS 2 days.

Most of the guages are now understood and just need art tweaking to make them work right. The real problem is that there weren't enough guages in the Viper mockups! There's no place to put some vital information..so a number of work-arounds have had to be found. I had hoped to include a working "Warbook" on the central panel...not going to happen, it's way beyond what I understand of XML.

I can promise one funny surprise for sharp eyed viewers of the original series...

My plans for a new-series Viper MKII have been scrapped. But, don't worry, there is another... :)

Glad your OK  Silver  ??
Any projection,speculation,best guess when?
Yes,xml is sometimes easy and sometimes unforgiving like Gmx.FSDS2 is an easy program,Gmx still lets me know who (or what) is in control! How about Drop downs (pop ups) for the Vital info in the Panel/Cockpit area. You can make nice background txtrs to match the layouts.

I found a really cool guage that includes most of the really common stuff for up front in the MFD...not including a Warbook so that spot would be under-utilized otherwise.

Most of the other guages I have worked out by "doubling up". The various vertical guages along the cockpit sides will serve two purposes each...with at least one serving 3.

For example, on the left side (engine monitoring area):

3 guages will each have % RPM and EGT indications.
The 4th guage will have 3 fuel flow indications.

The right side is simpler...flight instruments and there aren't as many to include. Airspeed, Altitude, VSI and Fuel.

I'm not going to make a prediction...I've learned from last time that things may go wildly wrong and I don't want to pressurize myself to try and take shortuts to push something out the door.

New pics as soon as I finalize some guage textures...I don't want to produce anything that may not be representative of the final package.
